Carl W. Ballerstein, 82, went home to Our Lord on Friday, March 21, 2014, in Vero Beach, FL. He was born on December 21, 1931, in Wellsville, NY. He was a devoted husband and father, and beloved by his large close family. Carl served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Alfred Tech College and was in Hospital Administration in Lockport, NY, East Liverpool, OH and Romney, WV. He retired to Whitesville, NY and then to Vero Beach, FL in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte; daughters, Carol (Frank) of Federal Way, WA; Gail (Rich) of Vero Beach, FL; Karen (Anthony) of Crestview, FL; sons, Alan of Wellsville, OH; Kurt (Tracey) of Clyde, NY; stepson, Mark (Debbie) Bonner of Williamsville, NY; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his only remaining sister, Ruth Stisser of Wellsville, NY and his friend Tammy. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothea Ballerstein, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1850 6th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
